Stability of stochastic optimization problems - nonmeasurable case
This paper deals with stability of stochastic optimization problems in a general setting. Objective function is defined on a metric space and depends on a probability measure which is unknown, but, estimated from empirical observations. We try to derive stability results without precise knowledge of problem structure and without measurability assumption. Moreover, ε-optimal solutions are consid...
متن کاملOn the Stability in Stochastic Programming - Generalized Simple Recourse Problems
Stochastic programming problems with simple recourse belong to problems depending on a random element only through the corresponding probability measure. Consequently, this probability measure can be treated as a parameter of the problem. In this paper the stability with respect to the above mentioned parameter will be studied for generalized simple recourse problems.
متن کاملUsing Metrics in Stability of Stochastic Programming Problems
Optimization techniques enter often as a mathematical tool into many economicapplications. In these models, uncertainty is modelled via probability distribution that isapproximated or estimated in real cases. Then we ask for a stability of solutions withrespect to changes in the probability distribution. The work illustrates one of possibleapproaches (using probability metrics),...
متن کاملStructural Stability for Ill-Posed Problems in Banach Space
We prove Hölder-continuous dependence results for the difference between solutions of certain ill-posed and approximate well-posed problems in both Hilbert and Banach spaces. We use operator-theoretic methods, including C-semigroups, to treat the abstract Cauchy problem du dt = Au, u(0) = χ, 0 ≤ t < T, where the operator −A is the infinitesimal generator of a holomorphic semigroup.
متن کاملSTABILITY AND STRUCTURAL PROPERTIES OF STOCHASTIC STORAGE NETWORKS by
We establish stability, monotonicity, concavity and subadditivity properties for open stochastic storage networks in which the driving process has stationary increments. A principal example is a stochastic fluid network in which the external inputs are random but all internal flows are deterministic. For the general model, the multi-dimensional content process is tight under the natural stabili...
